Recommended FrameContemporary Dark Pine Frame Size: 20 x 23 ins Born in Moscow in November 1861, Konstantin Korovin pursued an official career but nevertheless found the time to achieve individual work of great merit. He followed the School of the French Impressionists, creating images with a large and clear brush stroke, and his work did credit to the School he followed. He painted the decorations and created the costumes for more than a hundred ballets in the theatres of Moscow and St. Petersburg, and participated in the set and costume design of as many operas. A Professor of the School of Fine Art of Moscow and a Member of the Academy of Fine Art in St. Petersburg, Konstantin Korovin was also created a Chevalier of the Legion d'Honneur in France. He exhibited his works throughout the principal capitals of Europe and died in 1939. Framed print Terrace on a Sea Shore by Konstantin Korovin |
